MARVELOUS BOY 

A creative two-parter about the poet and writer, Thomas Chatterton, featuring drama, documentary, and animation.  The documentary half of this programme was directed by Lee Cox, and the animation half was directed by Hazel Gower.

Professor Nick Groom, an expert on the Romantic period, profiles Chatterton the child prodigy, vegetarian, drug-user and great influence on the romantic poets, whose statue was removed from St. Mary Redcliffe Church in Bristol for two reasons:  he was thought to be a literary forger and thought to have committed suicide.
